Today we will be taking our multiple choice part of our Semester Test.

Today we will be taking the essay part of the semester test!   Tomorrow we will be taking the multiple choice part of test.  Just reminder you can study for the test tomorrow using kahoot.

Today we spent the entire period reviewing for our semester.   Tomorrow students will be taking the essay part of the semester test.   Then on Wednesday students will be taking the multiple choice part of the test.   I am including the essays below to give students a chance to be prepared for the essay portion of test.

60% Part 1 –Themes (Short Answer) Using the examples and notes studied in class, choose four of the following questions to answer

Geography:   Describe the climate in which you live. Compare your climate with at least two other climate areas of the United States.

Native of Americans:  Choose three Native American cultures.  Explain how the climate and the resources influenced their culture, include housing, dress and any other adaptation you can think of.

Age of Columbus:  Explain how the voyages of Columbus and the Columbian Exchange marked a turning point in the history of the Americas. Include details from the chapter in your explanation.

The Colonies:   Choose one colony from each of the following regions: New England, the Middle Colonies, and the Southern Colonies. Compare and contrast life in these three colonies.

Trouble in the Colonies:   Choose one of the following laws: the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act, or the Townshend Acts. Suppose that you are a mediator between the colonists and the British government. Write a short report that explains each side’s position with regard to that law and suggests an acceptable.

Trouble in the Colonies:  Colonists based their opposition to the actions of the British Parliament on principles that they believed violated their rights as British citizens. Explain how each of the following acts violated citizens’ rights, according to the colonists: the Stamp Act, writs of assistance, the Quartering Act.

Revolutionary War:  Several factors contributed to the Patriot victory in the Revolutionary War. Choose the three factors that you consider most important to the American victory, and explain how each one affected the war’s outcome.

Today we will be having a makeup day!  Along with this we will be watching a video called "A Healthy Constitution"  .  Just a reminder Tuesday is the last day to turn in late or missing assignments.  

Thursday January 21, 2016

First thing today we will be checking our HW from yesterday.  We will then take notes on Chapter 7 Section 1 Ch.7 Notes.  After that we will read pgs. 206-210 pg. 206-210 as a class.  The rest of the period will be spent working Ch7 Section 2 Guided Reading.

Wednesday January 20, 2015

First thing today we will do a review activity called looping with our Ch.7 Vocab.  Then we will take Ch.7 Vocab Quiz.  We will then read from the text book pgs. 200-204 pg. 200-204 and then the homework will be guided reading 7.1 Guided 7.1 A Loose Confederation.

Monday January 19, 2016

Today we first thing we will be finishing up the movie Patriot.  The rest of the period will be spent working on and grading Ch.7 Pre-Test.

These three days we will be continuing our study of the American Revolution by watching an edited version of Patriot.

Today we are taking Ch.6 Test.  Then when students are finished they will begin working on Ch.7 Vocab.  Which is due on Thursday!  Ch.7 Vocab

First thing students will reading a skit called "Crossing the Delaware" about the Battle of Trenton.   The rest of the period will be spent working on Ch.6 Quiz 4 and Wks about the Battle of Trenton and the Declaration of Independence.

Friday January 8

Today as class we will read pgs. 191-195  pg. 191-195as a class.  Then the rest of the period will be spent working on Ch.6 Guided Reading 5 and Quiz 5.

Monday January 11, 2016

Today first thing we will hand in our HW from Friday Ch.6 Section 5 Guided Reading.  Then we will read pgs. 194-195 pg. 191-195 as a class.    The we will take notes on Sections 3-5.   The rest of the period will be spent working a American Revolution Bingo which will help students review for the test.  American Revolution Bingo

Today first thing we will read pgs. 181-185 pg. 181-185 as a class which will include lots of discussion.
Then the rest of the period will be spent working Guided Reading 6.3 along with Quiz 6.3 Guided 6.3/ Quiz 6.3.

Welcome back.   Today we will first read pgs. 173-176 pg. 173-176.  Then we will take notes on Ch.6 Section 1 and 2.  Ch.6 Notes.   The rest of the period will be spent working on the Vocab review wks.  Review Vocab wks.

Tuesday Jan. 5
First thing today we read correct our HW from yesterday.  We will then watch CNN student news.  Then we will read a skit called Patriots vs Loyalist Patriots vs Loyalist.   Then the rest of the period will be spent watching a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
