Monday and Tuesday September 29 and September 30

Monday
Sorry I didnt get this posted yesterday.  Yesterday we checked our HW from last Friday then we took a Vocabulary Quiz.   We then spent the rest of the period starting our Native American Project Native American Project and Example.  

Tuesday
Today we will continue working on our projects.  These projects need to be completed by the time students arrive Thursday for class.   Today our goal is to have 8 note cards completed.  

Friday September 26, 2014

Mr. Carlson was not present in class today he was filling in the office as sub for the principal.   Today students turned in their entry task then read pgs. 42-48 Pg. 42-48 as a class.   The assignment for the day was pg. 48 3-6 and wks. Ch.2 Quiz 2 front and back Ch.2 Quiz 2 Front and Back.  Questions must be answered in complete sentences and its all due on Monday.

Today we are turning in our Native American maps that we started yesterday.  Then we will be watching a video on the history of the US.   It sums up some topics from Ch.1 and previews some topics we will be covering in the future.  We will need note cards next week please get some if you can afford it.  Thanks

Today we will be correcting Ch.2 Vocabulary and Ch.2 Quiz 1.  Then we will be working on Native American map NA Map Map pg. 44which will be due on Thursday.

Tuesday September 23, 2014

Good morning folks.   Today we will be taking Ch.2 pre-test that can be turned in for extra credit when we take Ch.2 Test.   Then we will be reading pgs. 36-41 pg. 36-41 as a class.   Then students will have time to Ch.2 Quiz 2 Ch.2 Quiz  and their vocabulary both are due on Wednesday.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Today we will be taking our first chapter test.  The test will cover Ch.1.  Just a reminder that if you are unhappy with your grade you have the option to retake the test.  After completing the test students will then work on Ch.2 Vocab Ch.2 Vocab.  The vocab will be due on Wednesday.

Thursday September 18
I am very sorry about the late post, i was gone on Thursday.   First thing students did with the sub is read pgs 26-30 pg. 26-30.   After the reading students were to work pg. 30 questions 2-4 with complete sentence answers.   Then they should be working Ch.1 Quiz 4 wks Ch.1 Quiz 4 Front and Back along with the backside which reviews some basic geography.  All of this was due on Friday September 19.

Friday September 19
Today we will be correcting or be turning a lot of work.  (Entry Task, Constitution Wks. pg. 30 2-4, and Ch.1 Quiz 4 wks.)   After this we will be taking chapter 1 section 4 notes.   Then we will spend the rest of the period reviewing for the test on Monday.   Please feel free to look at this study guide.

Happy Constitution Day!!
First thing today we are going to be watching a couple short video clips on the Constitution.   Then we will be working on a Constitution Scavenger Hunt wks Constitution Scavenger Hunt Wks. . in small groups.   This will be due on Friday.

Today we will first correct yesterdays homework Ch.1 Quiz 3.  After correcting HW we will then take notes on Ch.1 Section 3 (please refer to Ch.1 folder to find a copy).  Then we be watching a short video titled "Tell Me Why Geography".

Monday September 15, 2014

Today first think we will be correcting the HW from Friday Chapter 1 Quiz 2 Wks.   Then we will take notes for Ch.1 Section 2 (See Ch.1 Folder for notes).   After taking notes we will then read pgs. 20-25 pg. 20  pgs. 21-25 as a class.  Then the HW will be Chapter 1 Section 3 Quiz Wks Ch.1 Quiz 3.

Friday Spetember 12, 2014

Today students will be turning in their regions map that was given to them on Wednesday.  After they turn in their maps we will then read pgs. 14-17 pgs. 14-17.   Then their HW will be Chapter 1 Quiz 2 Ch.1 Quiz 2.   Have a great weekend.

Today we will start class by talking about how important a primary source is when you look at history.   Today we will be watching a video on 9/11.   The video has many clips of live footage of the after math of the attack on the World Trade Centers.   The video is an outstanding representation of how a primary source portrays an event.   It's not sugar coated its real live history.

Today we will be turning our homework from the last two days (World Maps and Lat/Long Wks).   Then we will be taking a quiz on the oceans and continents.   After the quiz we will be reading pgs. 11-14 pgs.11-14 as class.  Then we will working on our regions map which will be due on Friday.  

Tuesday September 9, 2014

Today we will finish reading section 1 pages 8-9 pgs. 8-9.   Then we take section 1 notes please refer to Ch.1 to folder if you would like a copy of the notes.   After completing notes we will then work on the Lat/Long Wks. Lat/Long Wks..   The rest of the period will be spent working on the World Map or the Lat/Long wks. both are due tomorrow.   There will be a quiz tomorrow on the oceans and continents.

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Today as a class we will be reading pgs. 4-7 pgs. 4-7.  Then the rest of the period we will be working on our world maps  World Map and Examplewhich will be due on Wednesday.

Well the first week is now complete.   First thing today we will be correcting Chapter 1 vocabulary.  Then we will be taking a vocabulary quiz.   After that we will be taking Ch.1 pre-test.

This year has got off to an outstanding start.   Just a reminder that vocabulary will be due on Friday.  Today we will be going over the ins and outs of of my classroom Rules and Procedures.   Hopefully after today students will have good understanding of how this class will operate.

Today students will be taking there Semester Pre-Test.   This will be used to compare to the test they take in the end of January.   While students are taking test we will also be checking out text books.   Students are free to take text books home and dont need to bring them to class.   After students are finished with test they will continue working on Ch.1 vocabulary.  

Welcome Back Tuesday September 2, 2014

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer.    I am very excited about being back in the classroom.  Today we are doing things a little than most classrooms do on a first day.   As a student I hated the first day because all the teachers did all period was talk about rules and regulations.  This got very boring to me after hearing 6 different teachers do this.   So we are going to jump right into things and get started with Chapter 1 Vocabulary Ch.1 Vocab then on Thursday we will be going classroom rules and procedures.
